Soft Wear Patch: A Sashiko Workshop Intermediate Course

$100.00

Join Idle Worship — a San Francisco–based craft studio rooted in community, collaboration, and fabric innovation — for an immersive workshop celebrating the beauty of repair. What began as a small “dyer for hire” project has evolved into a full-fledged practice of reimagining materials and breathing life into previously loved garments.

This session is perfect for those who have already taken the beginner sashiko workshop with Idle Worship, and/or have experience with hand embroidery. Building upon the techniques learned in our first workshop, this intermediate session dives even deeper into the practice and philosophy of sashiko. The evening will consist of a short presentation on the different embroidery styles and patterns, how to place patches and mark fabric, and why we choose different styles for repairs.

All supplies will be provided, and some sewing experience is required. Come ready to reconnect with garments that have been loved and how to remove yourself from the circular nature of the fashion cycle by repairing what you already own.

  • Date: TK

  • Time: TK

  • Cost: $100 (All materials included)

  • Location: Four One Nine, 419 Tenth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103

  • Some hand embroidery required! Tickets are non-refundable
